Last Day of Flame Tree Arts Festival

Jun joined Gus for a few numbers. Actually, he was only supposed to join Gus for one number, but when he got on stage for the sound check, he decided to stay from beginning to end!

It sure was hot out! But, in the end, it was well worth it. At the end of the performance, Parker presented Gus with an appreciation certificate. (Photo courtesy of sister Nan Kramis.)

What kind of tree is the Flame tree?

Hi, Dan--
Check out this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Poinciana for more info on what a flame tree is. Notice the tree that our band is standing in front of on the top photo on this blog? Yep. That's a flame tree. Every year for the past 27 years, we've had an arts festival named after the flame tree and people from all over the Pacific and some other parts of the world find their way to this festival. There's lots of entertainment, cultural performances, and things to buy and sell. Oh, and there's usually lots of different foods, too. The festival is always in April. But I digress. I will look for the link to some other flame tree photos from friends that I'll share later on.

Thanks for dropping by.

I’m looking at & admiring everyone with their Mwar Mwars & it’s bring back memories of Samantha’s graduation from Hopwood last May. I want to thank you and our sisters again for coming to my rescue and making Samantha’s Mwar - it was very beautiful. And, of course, thank you for the 2 additional Mwars that were made for her friends.

I’m sending another SOS… I’ve been asked to MC this years Hopwood graduation ceremony & I would love to wear a Mwar. Do you think our sisters have time to make one for me :)?
